Dozen of Tibetan Poeple Eat Strike.


About 20 people are exiled Tibetans jailed in Nepal and held a hunger strike, Wednesday, March 17, 2010. They demanded that immediate release from prison. Katmandu police have been ordered to immediately bring the prisoners to the hospital if their health condition deteriorated.

The 23 Tibetans were arrested on March 10 and March 14 and for opposing the government of China to ban all forms of protest, with the siege at the visa office of the Embassy of China in Kathmandu.

They were sentenced to prison for 90 days under the public security law that allows authorities to take action against people deemed a threat to society.

Tibetans in Nepal against the government's ongoing China since 2008. Tibetan people's attitudes to embarrass the government of Nepal is seeking to improve relations with China. Nepal under pressure from China to stop the protests, and pressure from Western countries to allow the protests took place.

Nepal government itself says will not allow protests against friendly nations progress. Thousands of Tibetans living in Nepal, and hundreds of people were allowed to go through the Dharmasala Nepal, India, where the spiritual leader the Dalai Lama lives. China claims Tibet as its territory, but many Tibetans say, the independent Himalayan region for centuries until the army invaded China in the 1950s.
